| The purpose of this research report is to present an evaluation of advisory service pricing performance in 1995 for corn and soybeans. Specifically, the average price received by a subscriber to an advisory service is calculated for corn and soybean crops harvested in 1995. The average net advisory price across all 25 corn programs is $3.04 per bushel. The range of net advisory prices for corn is quite large, with a minimum of $2.34 per bushel and a maximum of $3.81 per bushel. The average net advisory price across all 25 soybean programs is $6.61 per bushel. As with corn, the range of net advisory prices for soybeans is substantial, with a minimum of $5.75 per bushel and a maximum of $7.92 per bushel. |

| In the Southeastern Association the average accrual net farm income in 1996 was $67,579 for the 61 farms included in this report. The decrease is due to lower inventory levels since the increase in gross cash income was higher than the increase in total cash farm expenses. Even though this is a decrease of 8% from the 1995 average, the 1996 net farm income is still one of the highest on record. Only in 1978, 1990, 1991, 1994 and 1995 was average nominal profit also greater than $50,000. When adjusted by the Consumer Price Index (to provide a constant dollar or buying power comparison), the average 1996 profit is exceeded only in 1990 and 1995. | For the Southwestern Association, average accrual net farm income was $62,699 in 1996 for the 203 farms included in this report. This is an increase of 9% from 1995 making 1996 another high income year in a job with large swings in income. This volatility can be seen whether income is measured in nominal terms or constant dollars. The 20% of these 203 farms with the highest net farm income had an average profit of $157,052--an increase from 1995. The low 20% of the farms had an average loss of -$6,010 in 1996, which was a smaller loss than in 1995. Average gross cash farm income in 1995 was $382,502--a 10% increase from 1995. | タイヤの接地面に作用する応力を測定するために, タイヤラグフェースの一点における法線方向応力, 接線方向応力及び横方向応力を同時に測定できる測定器を開発した。本測定器を1本のタイヤラグの3ヶ所すなわちタイヤ踏面中心部, 同側端部ならびにこれらの中間部の3ヶ所に埋め込んで各応力を測定した。測定例としてすべり率20%時の応力分布状態を示し, 最大接地応力値及び発生位置を検討した。 A three-dimensional stress transducer was developed to measure normal，tangential and lateral stresses on the lug face between a tire-lug and soil. Three transducers were mounted on the part of lug - end which is almost the same place of the tire tread center，on the outer edge of lug and a intermediate place of above two places. The stress distributions of three transducers were presented and the relationships between peak stresses and their rotational angles at 20% slippage were discussed. |

| When the first group of DNA puffs is active in the salivary gland regions S1 and S3 of Bradysia hygida larvae, there is a large increase in the production and secretion of new salivary proteins demonstrable by [3H]-Leu incorporation. The present study shows that protein separation by SDS-PAGE and detection by fluorography demonstrated that these polypeptides range in molecular mass from about 23 to 100 kDa. Furthermore, these proteins were synthesized mainly in the S1 and S3 salivary gland regions where the DNA puffs C7, C5, C4 and B10 are conspicuous, while in the S2 region protein synthesis was very low. | The human immunoglobulin lambda variable locus (IGLV) is mapped at chromosome 22 band q11.1-q11.2. The 30 functional germline v-lambda genes sequenced untill now have been subgrouped into 10 families (V<FONT FACE="Symbol">l</font>1 to V<FONT FACE="Symbol">l</font>10). | Em dois ensaios de campo de adubação nitrogenada, desenvolvidos com o cultivar IAC 20 de algodão em solos infestados por nematóides, nos municípios de Mococa e Tatuí (SP), em 1988/89, observou-se que a incidência de sintomas na parte aérea das plantas ocorreu de forma diferenciada em função dos tratamentos (0, 25, 50 e 75 kg ha-1 de N-cobertura).
